WESTERN SYDNEY arts alliance works toward seven key strategic objectives to promote arts, culture and creativity in the region

Our Strategic Objectives

  • Respect First Nations culture in all its forms across the region and beyond.

In all our activities we respect the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we create and tell stories, and ensure that their stories are an integral part of what we do.

  • Shine a light on arts, culture and creativity in Western Sydney.

We amplify the talent, creativity and innovation that takes place in the organisations working in the arts and culture in the region. We do this through an integrated communications and advocacy strategy that goes out to stakeholders, community and leaders.

  • Promote the mental health benefits of a creative life for Western Sydney communities.

The mental health of our community is paramount, and we promote the vital role that the arts play in bringing people together, accessing services, expressing themselves, and finding confidence in their daily life.

  • Create innovative education pathways for future jobs for people in the region.

The arts are a major employer in Western Sydney, from performers to production crew, set designers, film technicians, costume makers, lighting designers, arts managers and music promoters and more. We will work to future-proof arts career pathways in the region.

  • Build community resilience through arts, culture and creativity in diverse communities.

The more our community embraces its differences, the stronger we are together. We want to promote the strength of Western Sydney's diversity to the entire region and beyond.

  • Have a unified voice and ensure that we influence decision-makers regarding the future development of the region.

When we come together, we are stronger, and we work to ensure that any major decisions that are made in the region reflect the grassroots aspirations of the Alliance and the best interests of Western Sydney's creative communities.
